Seeking the courage to effect change.
No one in the world would wish these statistics upon a
child. Every day we work hard to provide for our own
children thankful that they are given the opportunity to
succeed, but we need to take more action for the
children of the world that do not have someone to fight
for them or simply are powerless to. Every child has a
right to be happy and healthy. Every child has the right
to their innocence. Every child has a right to a parent
who will not succumb to a preventable disease.

There are not many people out there who would disagree
that a child is a beautiful creation. From their innocent
smiles, to their eagerness to be held, to their curiosity
about the world, every aspect of them is beautiful. They
are pure, innocent, and magnificent.
Every day, fathers and mothers, strive to provide a world
full of love, protection, education and promise. However,
for half of the children in this world, there is no
promising future. Poverty affects half of them, leaving
them hungry, uneducated, homeless, and in most cases
orphaned.
The facts on poverty are grim and dismaying. “Living in
extreme poverty (less than $1 a day) means not being able
to afford the most basic necessities to ensure survival; Eight
million people a year die from absolute poverty,” states the
Spinney Press. If we take a closer look at children, the facts
are even more disheartening. The Care Organization reports
statistics very discomforting:
• Measles, malaria and diarrhea are three of the
biggest killers of children-yet all are preventable or
treatable.
• HIV/AIDS has created more than 14 million orphans-
92 percent of them live in Africa.
• 134 million children between the ages of 7 and 18 have
never been to school.
• Six million children under five die every year as a
result of hunger.
We have created this website because we
believe that change can happen across the
world through awareness and shared
experiences. We have all seen the statistics
and facts but the stories of each country,
city, town, family, and child go unnoticed.
All children deserve the basic needs of
life: food, shelter, and education.
