Many years ago, a brave man by the name of Noel Henry
passed away after a long bout with cancer; but before he
died, he had one last message. A message he struggled to
deliver by pen due to a tube down his throat. With pen in
hand and many attempts he finally wrote the word “world”
and then motioned prayer with the folding of his hands. In
his very last moments of life, he did not think of himself but
only wished for others to “Pray for the World.”
This one request reminds us that the world has much
indifference and hate. It is a universe in need of evaluation
and in such moments of deliberation may we find common
ground through the uniting value of love. Many times we
tend to forget that we are members of one world.
The mission of World7 is to honor his last wish as well as
put it into action. The mission is threefold:
• To create awareness of the living conditions in
developing countries through the shared experiences
of volunteers.
• To become a voice in support of an organization that
makes a difference in their country-who may not have
a strong enough voice of their own.
• To raise money in support of these organization
projects that will help them succeed in their ongoing
fight to save the children.
With this website, we hope to make the lives of these
people palpable and tangible to the world. By sharing
stories about the children, the conditions of the
surrounding towns, and the daily lives of people living in
one of these countries, we hope the world will be able to
see and most importantly feel how unjust the conditions
truly are. It is one thing to watch a 20 second commercial or
read a statistic in a book, but to see hundreds of people
picking trash for food or children with beautiful hearts and
smiles without books to learn how to read is another.
Would this be acceptable for our own sons and daughters?
Our only hope is that it will touch just one person and
change their perspective; a change that will help them in
their daily life. If this happens, then our purpose will have
been served. Perhaps such idealism is infused with a bit of
naivety, but there is nothing wrong with idealism that is
incorporated with realism. If we all contribute just a little
bit then who knows, maybe, just maybe we can change the
world.

Seeking the courage to effect change.
