Friends of the Orphans is a 501(c)(3) organization. Federal Tax ID# 65-1229309 charity and accountability. Over the last 3 years, 88% of our resources were spent on programs.

Over 150 million children are orphaned in
this world. Since 1954, Friends of the
Orphans has transformed the lives of
17,000 orphaned, abandoned, and
disadvantaged children in Latin America
Without any government funding and an
annual operating expense of 25 million
dollars, Friends of the Orphans & NPH
prides itself on the knowledge that every
donation we have is because someone
decided to give.
At this year’s event, we welcome an
individual who is helping defeat these
odds. Gena Hegarty, of County Mayo,
became the first recipient of the
prestigious President Bill Clinton Goodwill
for Haiti award in Dublin. Alongside
President Bill Clinton, President Michel
Martelly, and seven well known Irish
charities, Gena Hegarty was honored for
her 13 years of service as director of our
NPH special needs program in Haiti.
We are happy to welcome Cardinal Seán
O’Malley to our fundraising event this
year, to share reflections on his visits to
Haiti and join us in congratulating Gena
Hegarty.
We hope with your help to raise $100,000
to assist in providing one more child a
chance to grow up with hope.
Suggested donation of $20.00
Suggested donations are welcomed at
the door. A ticketed donation can be
reserved prior to the day of the event
online or by contacting us at
